He is Risen, Indeed!!!

I love Easter . . . it's one of my favorite Sundays of the whole year.  I love the time leading up to Easter too, as we take time to focus on Jesus' love and sacrifice for us.  This year we once again made a resurrection garden!  It came out much better than last year's.  In fact, I had to trim the grass this morning, as it was getting too tall and overtaking the crosses. :)  This is a beautiful little project to remind the kiddos of what Easter is all about.  We also used our nightly Bible time to go through our 12 Resurrection Eggs, which the kids love doing.  These are special traditions and so meaningful!  We've also been learning this song as a family:

How deep the Father's love for us,
how vast, beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
to make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss!
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon a cross,
my sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there,
until it was accomplished.
His dying breath has brought me life;
I know it is finished.

I will not boast in anything:
no gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart:
His wounds have paid my ransom.

We will be enjoying a nice family brunch soon, and then I can't wait to worship with our little church family later today.  I hope all of you are having a wonderful Resurrection Sunday as we celebrate Jesus and His amazing love!!!
