Hello, hello! :)

Yes, I am still alive . . . :) Just busy! We got home from Ohio almost 2 weeks ago now, which seems crazy. On the one hand it seems like we were JUST there, and on the other hand it seems like it was a long time ago! We filled the first week after we got home with settling in, doing some much needed organizing and getting ready to start school, etc. Then this past week we jumped into the new school year, so that made things even busier as we tried to find our new groove! (I'm not sure that we've found it yet.) In the midst of it all, my poor blog got neglected again, as usual, and I even forgot to publish 2 comments until just now--sorry to my dear friend Mrs. S, and thank you SO much for your sweet comments and well wishes for our trip. :))

I dug out my sewing stuff this weekend, after a whole summer of saying I was going to sew, and not getting to it! While in Ohio, I bought some cute clearance fabric at Hobby Lobby. I'm making matching skirts for Julia and me, and a coordinating top for her, too. I think they are going to be pretty cute, and I'm hoping to get it all done by next weekend so we can wear them a little bit before the weather cools off. Maybe if I can sew a little bit each day after school, it will actually happen! :)

I'm also getting ready for the annual weekend ladies' retreat coming up in 2 weeks at the Wilds of New England. Pretty excited about that!! Aaaannnddd . . . my sis and family are coming to NH in September and they will be here for 3 whole weeks, which is even MORE exciting! Let's just say that August through October have been/are very full and fun months for us this year, and then after October, the holidays are right around the corner, which is totally crazy and scary at the same time!

Jim and I celebrated our 13th anniversary while we were in Ohio. Even though we didn't do anything really "big," we did get to have a lunch date out for pizza, and a few hours of shopping without the kiddos, which was really nice. :) One of these years, hopefully we can actually go on some kind of getaway (maybe for our 15th?) but any kind of a date is great! It is hard to believe we've been married for more than 13 years now. I used to think that a 15th anniversary sounded so far in the future . . . we would talk about doing something really exciting, like a trip to Alaska or someplace . . . and now our 15th is only 2 years away, and I don't see a trip like that in the near future. :) That's OK, though!

I started writing this post yesterday, and now it is late Sunday night. Poor Josiah woke up throwing up around 4 am today and hasn't been feeling well all day, throwing up again just before bedtime. So it's been an interesting day! Hopefully it's just a 24 hour bug and will be gone by tomorrow. I have lots more to ramble about, but I will save it for later. Hopefully I'll be able to post some weekly goals tomorrow!

Hi Carrie,
I was so happy to see that you updated again. I have missed your posts. We are gearing up for a FRESH new school year. Hoping we get LOTS done in the next few months as we are going to be babysitting for some little ones. :) I figure the MORE we get done before that happens the BETTER.

Hope little Josiah is feeling better quickly!! How is school going? I feel very unprepared this year :(. Happy 13th Anniversary :). We had talked for a few years about hiking part of the long trail for our 20th ... with 2 years to go that will NOT happen! Glad your back and can't wait to see you skirts. That is so exciting that Jo and family will be here for 3 weeks :).
