Monthly weigh-in and fitness goals

Time for my monthly weigh-in and accountability to all you friends! :) My goal for March was to lose 4 pounds. If you've been keeping up with my weekly goal posts over the past month, you'll have seen that I didn't lose much--only about half a pound up till last week. However, I weighed in on Sunday for my official end-of-month/beginning-of-month weight, and found I had followed the pattern of the previous 2 months, and dropped quite a bit right at the end. So my total loss for March was 3.2 pounds, which I'm honestly really happy about! Even though I didn't hit my goal for the month, that's still a pretty good loss, and I am now only 4.6 pounds away from hitting my first goal!!!! Yes, I'm just a wee bit excited about that. :) Once I reach that milestone, I will reevaluate and probably set a new mini-goal of another 5 pounds or so. That would bring me back to around the same weight I was all through college and when we were first married.

In other weight-loss related news, I took a chance and bought a couple new pairs of jeans from Kohls.com a few weeks back . . . they came last week and they FIT!! It's really super exciting to not have to be constantly hiking up my jeans, as they were always sliding down since I started losing. :D

So, here are a few weight/fitness goals for April. April is a tricky month because we have 3 birthdays in our family . . . so there will be lots of opportunities to exhibit self-control. :)
  • Exercise 3-5 days every week
  • Continue to drink 3 bottles of water (or more) 5-6 days/week
  • Start working out with the 30 Day Shred DVD (yikes, I think I'm crazy!)
  • Continue to limit sugar
  • Continue to work on portion control
  • Lose at least 3 pounds
I also lost 1.5 inches off my waist this month, which was quite exciting! All my other measurements stayed the same. I don't set measurement goals, but I am happy every time I see a little difference. :)
