This morning I hopped on the scale for my end-of-the-month weigh-in. Imagine my surprise when I found that I'd lost more than 2 lbs. since my weekly weigh-in on Sunday!!! I hope I can maintain this and see a good number on the scale this coming Sunday, too. :) Anyway, what was really super exciting was that this means I actually DID accomplish my goal of losing 4 lbs. this month (actual total was 4.5 lbs.), and it also brings me to a total of 10 lbs. lost since the beginning of the year. Whoohoo!!!! Ladies, I can tell you that losing weight is definitely work, BUT I have discovered a couple of things (that aren't rocket science, but I now can attest that yes--these things are true!!) . . .
- Cutting out sugar helps a lot with weight loss. Like, a LOT a lot.
- Drinking tons more water than you did previously helps a lot, too.
- Exercise is always good, too. :)
- Relying on God for the strength to not give in to your cravings is really important. (More on this when I review Made to Crave.)
I also lost some inches this month, which makes me happy. :) 1 inch off both waist and hips!
Leap Day was also exciting for another reason--my Kindle Touch arrived!!!! I ordered one last Friday and it wasn't supposed to come till this Friday, but it's already here. :) I've been playing around with it a little bit and am excited that now I'll be able to download any freebie books that interest me. Now, normally we aren't the type to splurge on something expensive like a gadget. :) But Jim wanted us each to take a little bit of our tax refund and get something we wanted, while the rest gets put away in savings for future needs. So the Kindle was my splurge, and I think it'll be a really useful one.
And now it's late, and way past time to get to bed. It'll be interesting to see how much snow we wake up to in the morning . . . the forecast is now saying possibly up to a foot over the next day or so. We will see! :)

Wow, how exciting! I am going to purpose to take those weight-loss tips to heart. I know that sugar definitely makes a difference, but I need to make myself eat less of it (not that I consume a lot) and definitely drink more water. Any tips on how to make yourself do that when it's cold outside and you just don't feel like drinking something cold?
Exciting about the Kindle, too. Hope you have lots of fun with it!
