It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas . . . Okay, so to be honest, this picture was actually taken a couple of weeks ago when we had a nice little snow flurry going on. :) But we DID get some snow yesterday--just a couple of inches, but it helped make things look nice and Christmasy!
My mother-in-law and I went shopping today; we had a nice time and I picked up a few more presents. We also had lots of fun just browsing all the lovely Christmas decorations in the little shops. This is one of my favorite times of year to shop--just because of how pretty everything looks. :)
I saw a book that I would love to get for the kids, all about snowflakes--The Secret Life of a Snowflake: An Up-Close Look at the Art and Science of Snowflakes--with the most amazing photographs. The more I see of the intricate details all around us in nature (not to mention the intricacies of the human body!!!) the more I cannot fathom the belief in evolution. (Rabbit trail there, I know--but just something that came to mind as I was leafing through that book. :) Anyway, if you get into a bookstore anytime soon, see if you can find a copy of it to look at--it's really cool.)

Sounds like a fun day! That book does seem interesting; I will have to make note of it. I find myself being the aunt that buys the kids books...I suppose it could be worse :-)
