Countdown to Christmas: 16 Days!

Yikes, 16 days?!!! Is it just me, or is December really zooming by? After all the fun and busyness of the past week, I think this weekend is going to be a time to stay home, catch up on housework (especially cleaning the kids' room--what a pigpen it is in there right now!) and do some more decorating and preparing for Christmas. I'm hoping to make some Christmas cookies, and maybe some other goodies too. It will also be a time for getting to bed early (well, ahem, not tonight :)) since we've had a lot of late nights this week.

Tonight we finally moved the ducks back in with the chickens. We've let them stay in their pen by the pond since October, but the pond is freezing over and the temps tonight are supposed to possibly dip below zero, so it was time. They didn't give us much trouble at all when we went to catch them, so I think they might have been fairly happy to move to a warmer place. The chickens are starting to slow down with egg laying (normal in the winter) but hopefully they will all stay warm and get through the winter months OK in their cozy coop. :)

Well, it's late and I'm tired. If you're reading this tonight or early Friday morning, pray for my in-laws' safety--they're driving through the night back to Ohio. Thanks!
