Sometimes God gives us fun surprises right in our own yard! Today, Jim found this lovely pink flower growing in the gravel in front of our house. We quickly transplanted it to my flower garden. Anyone have any idea what it is? It smells like a carnation, but I'm assuming it's some kind of wildflower . . . alas, I have no wildflower guide. Guess I'll have to add that to my wishlist for Christmas! At any rate, it is really pretty and I'm so happy to have another free flower to add to my garden. :)

Love the new look! :)
Pretty flower! That is neat that you were able to transplant it.
It was also encouraging to hear your praises to the Lord. He is so good!
Pretty! I also really like your new blog layout & background; it's gorgeous.
I love your new look too. My first thought on the flower is possibly a mountain laurel, but this looks a little different. If the unopened flowers look like icing stars, then that's what it is. Just a thought.
SWEET WILLIAM!!! I love flowers! And yes, they do smell like carnations, they are in the same family I believe.
And love the new blog layout!
I was able to see this flower in person in Carrie's garden (and smell it!) and when I did, I thought it must be Sweet William. I'm glad to have it confirmed!
Last year I sowed some wildflower seeds across our hill. This year we have Lupine, Cosmos, some small yellow flower.. don't know the name, and also baby's breath and Sweet Williams. The birds must have carried the seeds all around because now they are popping up all over. I hope yours will spread too.
