Sunday afternoon

Well, I completely forgot to put up a homemade life post this week! Sorry about that! With Sam's birthday and all, it totally slipped my mind. I'll plan to do better this week. :)

It was nice to be back in church today after missing two weeks due to sickness! Even though both Jim and I were having a hard time keeping our eyes open after the extra early rising due to lovely daylight savings . . . :) After church we made a quick stop at Toys R Us, as our kids are in their "birthday club" and Sam had received a $3 coupon in the mail for his birthday. He really wanted to get Toby the Tram engine, but we weren't sure if we would let him since those engines tend to be a little pricey, even with the coupon. Well, to Sam's delight, they had a Thomas and Toby set for $9.99--or $6.99 after his coupon. :) Just plain ol' Toby costs $11.99. So basically we paid $3.50 for each engine. Hooray! The extra Thomas went to Julia, since Sam already has one. What a neat little extra special blessing for the kids!

We have been vegging all afternoon . . . it's a gorgeous day with temps in the low 50s and we should be outside enjoying it, but it's nice to rest up in the house, too. Jim is napping, the older kiddos are playing with their new trains, Josiah is being his usual cheerful self, and I'm surfing the net and puttering around the kitchen now and then. And now it's becoming a challenge to keep Josiah's fingers off the keyboard, so I suppose I should go start on some pizza dough. Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!!
