Ahhh . . . spring! (or maybe summer) :)

This past weekend, and on into today, have been just gorgeous. We have spent a lot of time outside! Tonight, Jim is grilling chicken for supper, and I made a pasta salad to go along with it . . . I love summery meals. :) I found that my daffodils are finally poking up green spears, and pretty soon we should be seeing some leaves on the trees. I love this time of year, at least until the bugs come out. :)

Last week I bought a flower-shaped cake pan on Ebay and it already came! I'm going to use it to make Julia's birthday cake. I can't believe my baby will be turning one on Sunday!! I realized that I never did an 11 month update for my blog, so I will just make it a joint 11/12 month one after her birthday and her 1 year checkup next week.

Jim and I have been busy the past couple days, planning a mini-vacation to Lancaster County, PA. We have a friend who is getting married in that area in June, and we are so excited to go to his wedding, and also have some fun sightseeing while we are at it. Right now we are in the process of deciding where to stay. We looked into a lot of bed and breakfast sites, and narrowed it down to three. I think we have pretty much decided, but we are waiting to hear back from one more of them. If we don't hear back by tonight, I think we will go ahead and book the one we are thinking about. It looks like a really nice place, they don't mind kids, and it's a whole little apartment, which means that we can save some money by cooking some of our own meals (plus they include a big breakfast in the cost). We are really looking forward to the time away, and a visit to a new area. We've been to PA, but never specifically to Lancaster Cty. We plan to visit a railroad and one or two train museums while we are there, and maybe also Gettysburg and/or Valley Forge. We will see . . .

Julia and I stopped in at Walmart on Saturday, and they had a bunch of clearance racks outside. I found a couple shirts for Julia and some for Jim, and a dress for Julia as well. The best part was that if you bought the stuff right there at the outside register, then they took another 50% off everything! Yay! I got some GOOD deals. :) Such fun.

Well, I need to go now and get some more laundry done and folded, and then eat supper. Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!

We've been having perfect weather here lately as well. Yay for the arrival of spring, late though it may be. Your flowers sound later than ours though. Our tulips are in full bloom right now and are beautifully vibrant! I'm so envious of those wal-mart steals. Seems like our wal-mart never has great deals anymore. :( Can't wait to see how you decorate for Julia's bday party!
