Sunday afternoon

Well, we are enjoying a beautiful day here!!! Bright blue sky, a few puffy clouds, and a breeze some of the time. Very lovely!

Jim did something to his neck about 4:30 am while turning over in bed. We aren't sure if he pulled a muscle or pinched a nerve, but he couldn't move his head very well for a while. So we ended up staying home from church this morning, as he wasn't up to driving, and I wasn't up to taking both kids by myself. It probably wouldn't be that bad, but it's an hour drive each way, and sometimes Julia gets to screaming on the trip, which is difficult to deal with if I'm by myself. (If Jim is driving, I can hold the pacifier in her mouth till she eventually falls asleep.) So I stayed home and waited on my hurting hubby. :) He is starting to feel better now, but we plan to stay home all day to hopefully get him back to normal.

Jim, Sam and I spent some time playing in the pool out on the deck this morning. The water was just cool enough to be refreshing and just warm enough to be comfortable. Sam's favorite thing to do was splash Mommy! He can dish it out, but he can't take it. :) We are trying to teach him to "do unto others as he would have them do unto him"--but he hasn't caught on yet! Later on, Jim put Julia in the pool and she enjoyed it for a few minutes, as well. (This was after it had warmed up even more, and felt about like bath water!)

Yes, good churches are definitely few and far between! We have been going to this church for about 1.5 years, and are pretty used to the drive by now. The only thing I really don't like is that having to do all that driving makes Sundays not really feel like a "day of rest." But, we like where we live and don't want to move closer to church . . . so, this is what God has for us for now. :)
