I hope to get a post up later today with a combined challenge update from last week and this week, but for now I wanted to quickly let everyone know about a few good deals that are available on Amazon right now.
First, a freebie for Kindle: Chasing Mona Lisa, by Tricia Goyer and Mike Yorkey. This suspense novel is set during the end of WW2 and is the sequel to The Swiss Courier. Jim and I have read both books and we really enjoyed them! It's always nice to find authors who combine the Christian and suspense genres and do it well, and these definitely fall into that category. Plus, you can't beat free. :)
Another Kindle deal is Love and Respect, by Emerson Eggerichs. While it's not free, right now it's available for only $2.99 (be sure to check the price prior to downloading--Kindle prices change frequently!). This is the best marriage book I've ever read, and I HIGHLY recommend it. Reading this book and taking a class to go along with it at church, were marriage-changers for us. Really good (and eye-opening) stuff.
Last but not least, Amazon also has the complete set of Liberty's Kids DVDs on sale for $5.99. These DVDs cover the events surrounding the Revolutionary War in cartoon form. We bought them earlier this year after seeing a recommendation on a homeschooling forum, and our kids LOVE them (and are learning a lot!). A small caveat is that I personally don't care for the music at the beginning and end of each episode, but that is easily fast-forwarded through. :) Also, this inexpensive set does not come with the bonus features included in the much more expensive boxed set, but from what I understand, most of those features are available on the Liberty's Kids website.
