A post a day--Dec. 20: World's Easiest Christmas Candy

Just a quick little post for tonight, and sorry for the lack of pictures . . . it's been a busy day!!  I wanted to make some little goodie gift bags today, so we made the super quick "World's Easiest Christmas Candy" from Money Saving Mom.  It is really yummy and only takes minutes to put together!  The longest part is waiting for it to harden for an hour in the freezer.  Here's the recipe:

1 sleeve of saltines (or a little more)
1 cup brown sugar
1 stick butter
2 cups chocolate chips

Spread out saltines on a cookie sheet/bar pan.  (I used my Pampered Chef large bar pan and lined it with parchment paper to avoid sticking.  I could fit 40 crackers on there, which was a little more than one sleeve.

Melt butter and brown sugar together until gooey (make sure to stir it so it doesn't burn!) and carefully pour over saltines till they are covered.  Bake at 350 for about 5 minutes.

Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.  Let them sit for a few minutes, then spread them over everything to cover.  I then let the pan cool a little bit before putting it in the freezer for the next hour to harden.  After it's hard, take out the pan and break the candy into pieces.  Yum!!  Store in the freezer.
