Well, my browser is being very annoying at the moment and it won't let me move pictures around, so these pictures and accompanying chatter will be very random. Sorry about that--but probably it doesn't annoy the rest of you as much as it does me. :) Here are a few things we've been up to lately.
Sewing! I made this swaddler for a friend's baby shower today. I just love this lil' cowpokes fabric--the curtains in our kids' room are made from the same print, and Josiah has a little quilt with this print in it too, that my awesome quilting friend Mindee made him. :) Someday I hope to make him a big quilt (when he moves into the bunk bed--whenever that may be!) and have the fabric already stashed away for that. But I made this from a flannel receiving blanket that my mom gave me when Sam was a baby.
It turned out so cozy! Hope it will work well for the new little guy.School! Julia actually got a break from school most of this week (she is way ahead of schedule anyway). One day last week she did school in her new Cinderella PJs from the thrift store. :) I promise she was actually happier than she looks in this picture!
More sewing . . . my mom "hired" me to make these burp cloths for a baby gift. :) It was fun to get out the machine this week!
New sneakers! Nope, I haven't taken up running (although I have thought about it--but not in February in backwoods NH ;)), but I snapped these up on a good deal because I was in need of new sneakers anyway. I really like wearing them when I run on the elliptical, and they are nice for just wearing around the house, too. Very comfy.
Drawing! Julia loves to draw pictures. This one is of Baby Jesus, Mary and Joseph. And she's wearing the scarf I made that was supposed to be for me, but turned out too small. Doesn't it look cute on her? :)
Snow! We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning. About 4-5" of fresh, heavy snow. A lot of it has come off the trees now, but it was so beautiful this morning. We haven't seen much of the white stuff this winter, so I have to say I kind of enjoyed this, even though I have also been enjoying our unusual springy weather!
Jim and I might get to have a date tonight--hopefully he gets off work in time! We need to do a little birthday shopping for Sam, whose birthday is coming up in a little over a week. I can't believe I am going to have an 8-year-old soon!! It is exciting and a little scary at the same time. After all, eight is halfway to sixteen . . . !!!
And with that, I'd better wrap up this rambling post. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!
