Savoring the Season: Christmas Countdown, Day 11

**Note: this post was actually written on Saturday, but I didn't get around to adding the pictures till today. Oops! I decided to leave it as written, to save time. :)

I figured it would happen, and it did . . . I fell off the Christmas countdown bandwagon, as usual! It's not that we haven't been doing Christmasy stuff, because we have . . . but I just haven't gotten around to blogging about it. :) We've bought a few more presents, made paper snowflakes (which turned out so pretty!), read some Christmas books, and today we are doing our annual sugar cookie baking day! I think I got an early enough start on the cookie baking this year, that I might actually have time in the next couple weeks to make a few more varieties of cookies. :) And fudge! And anything else yummy that I come up with . . .

With regard to the paper snowflakes . . . it sounds funny, but I couldn't remember how in the world to make them, even though we made them all the time when I was a kid! So I turned to Pinterest for some help . . . and came up with this link, which has a handy downloadable template and a few patterns you can use for designs. From there, we branched out to making more snowflakes with construction paper (Sam's idea :)) and got creative with our cutting. Here are some of the ones we made:
Even though I haven't done so well keeping up with a Christmas countdown, you might like to check out my mom's blog, because she has been doing a stellar job posting some of her favorite Christmas recipes each day this month! And also, be sure to check out her Christmas blog, which has some great craft and gift ideas, links, and all kinds of fun Christmas stuff--and I must say I love how cute the whole blog design looks, too! :) Also, be sure to check out my friend Mrs. Smith's blog to see some pictures of her beautiful Christmas decorating!! I love how cozy and sparkly her home looks!

Here are some pictures from our cookie baking:

And you can see last year's post here, with links to some of our other Christmas cookie baking in past years!
