Savoring the Season: Christmas Countdown, Day 23/22

{image courtesy of VintageHolidayCrafts.com}
On Friday night we put up our Christmas tree! The kids were so excited. We listened to Christmas music and the kids did most of the decorating, which is one thing that's really nice about them getting older! Only one ornament got broken, thankfully. :)

Yesterday we didn't really do much toward getting ready for Christmas. We had a surprise power outage ("surprise" because there wasn't a storm that caused it) and the kids and I spent the day with my parents, meeting up with old friends at Cracker Barrel down in southern NH for lunch. That was really fun, as I hadn't seen these friends for several years and none of them had met Josiah yet.

Then we attempted to go to a local Christmas parade after Jim got off work, but ended up being too late. Oh well, maybe next year! :) We came home and added some more decorations to the tree and watched "Miracle on 34th Street" (the old one). It was a really nice day. :)

I enjoyed getting to see a glimpse of your beautiful tree going up. It looks like there are some very special ornaments included on your tree--those are the best kind!
