Weighing in: Week 4

Wow, Week 4 already!! Only 4 more weeks till my birthday . . . and my original weight loss goal! Well, I'm happy to say that this week the scale showed that I had lost 1 lb, leaving me with 10 lbs. left to go on my goal. I don't see myself losing 10 lbs. in the next 4 weeks, but I am thankful to be 1 lb. closer, anyway. :) This is, of course, assuming my scale was telling me the truth! I've definitely questioned its truthfulness often, but I'm happy to believe it when it shows me a loss! ;)

I did really bad with exercise last week, only doing my workout once. Oops! I also did pretty bad with my eating, indulging in cake and ice cream a lot more than just once . . . but I did work on watching portion sizes, not just with sweets but with everything. This week I am planning to work on incorporating more salads into my diet. Especially for lunch. I'll let you know how it goes.

Yesterday we had evangelist Jerry Sivinksty at our church, and during the Sunday School hour he preached on discipline in the Christian life. He covered three points: discipline of the mind, discipline of the body, and discipline of the heart. The whole message was really good, but the discipline of the body part was especially convicting, considering my weight loss/fitness challenge. :) It was a much-needed little kick in the pants for me!

Anyway, I'll stop chattering and let you all share how your own challenge is going! I hope you guys are pressing on and able to stay encouraged to work toward your goals, too. Thanks for helping to keep me accountable!

It was a pretty good week for me.
This week I did great with walking -- walked every day, and twice on a couple of days. Didn't do so well with my exercise routine; only managed that twice. I did pretty well with eating healthy through the week, but not so well on Sunday. I got plenty of sleep. Drinking enough water still needs work, but I did drink much more water (and green tea) this week. It's getting easier as the weather gets warmer.

Carrie, great job! Thanks for keeping me accountable, too! This last week I showed a loss of 3 pounds but I'm not sure I totally belive it! I was able to exercise three days. I was hoping this week I could be more consistent with working out & add a little more variety to my exercise. We'll see what happens!

Great job! You mentioned you wanted to have more salads for lunch. If you get sick of regular salads you can always do a veggie wrap too. One of my favorite lunches is to put some hummus (I made mine so it's very cheap, I just did garlic flavor but you could do whatever you like) on a tortilla/wrap add tons of fresh veggies and a sprinkle of feta cheese (or small amount of whatever you like). Very good for you and very filling.

I'll be trying to lose this baby weight this summer so I've enjoyed reading about your progress.
