Quote of the day

“But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it . . . "
--Nancy Pelosi, speaking about the health care reform bill in an address yesterday

I'm laughing. Or maybe I should be crying.

Wow. And that's the scary part, nobody knows what all exactly is being hidden in the bill!! Lord help us.

I totally agree. I was sickened when I heard her say that.

I was so disgusted when I heard that comment from her.
If there was ever a time when our country and its leaders needed us to pray, it is NOW!!!

Hope you have all been well,

Mrs. D

I hadn't heard this, but it doesn't surprise me. The scary thing is that none of them have read the entire thing either.

I found a transcript of the full speech online. Sorry to say it doesn't make any more sense in context. :/

Mindee, I know . . . I was thinking that in fairness to Pelosi, I should probably have linked to the whole speech. But I went and looked through the transcript too, after reading this quote in an email, and after that I didn't feel bad about just quoting this part of it. After all, it's not like they've made any secret about the fact that they want to push it through without anyone knowing what all is in it! It just boggles my mind how these people get elected. So much corruption, on both sides of the aisle!

I also thought it was interesting that she said, "So proud that President Obama is taking the message so forcefully to the American people!" Um, yeah, forcefully is the right word. More like "force it down our throats whether we like it or not!" :(

And Mrs. D--I agree that this is time we need to pray for our country more than ever before. I confess this is something I forget to do on a regular basis--thanks for the important reminder!

Did you ever watch the X-Files tv show? There was an episode where a school teacher was possessed by the devil or something and she had these snake like eyes at one point... it was frightening. Unfortunately when I see Nancy I see the evil teacher lady...
