It's been quite the busy week around here! Good, but busy. :) Here is a quick (or maybe not so quick) recap, starting with last Thursday:
Thursday: We took a family outing over to check out the barn that Jim built last summer/fall. He will be shingling it this spring, once the snow is gone (whenever that may be!). This was my first time to see it since he got the roof and walls on. It looks so nice and I'm so proud of the great job he has done!
After that we headed up to N. Conway and did a little outlet shopping, then we went even further north and got some great pictures of Mt. Washington all covered with snow. It was a beautiful day!
Friday: Grocery shopping, which is normally part of my Thursday routine, but got put off due to our trip on Thurs.
Saturday: Jim graciously gave me the go-ahead to take a whole day and go shopping with my good friends Leslie and Gail. I left home at 8 am and didn't get back till after 9 pm! We had so much fun and it was a sweet time of fellowship and a real blessing to have a girls' day out. A few highlights were finding deals at the Christmas Tree Shop, Kohl's (my favorite long-sleeved tees marked down to $3.60!!), and getting to go to Motherhood Maternity for the first time this pregnancy. I only got a few needed items there, since I don't have much longer to be pregnant. We went to Olive Garden for supper, which was a huge treat. Last time I ate there was almost 3 years ago! And I LOVE their food--esp. the salad and breadsticks. :) Speaking of Olive Garden, I discovered this week that you can actually find some of their recipes right on their website! I hope to try some in the future.
Sunday: Church, with afternoon naps in between services. Much-needed naps, I might add! We were all a bit messed up from the time change.
Monday-Weds.: Trying to catch up on housework and get back into our normal routine. Naps started happening again (and by the way, thanks to those who shared helpful tips in that area!) and I finally got granola made after being all out of it for a couple weeks!
Thursday: Grocery shopping, post office, library, and a very nice visit with my friend Linda and her family (and I even got to hold her new baby girl!). Sam came down with a cold/cough thing and had a rather rough night.
Friday: Sam's still coughing, but mostly playing as usual . . . Julia seemed a little crabby so I wondered if she's coming down with the same thing, or maybe just teething. I'm still not sure, but we plan to keep both kiddos home from church this Sunday. I caught up on bill paying and other financial stuff and we also rearranged some stuff in the house.
Today: Slept in, dealt with droopy, moody kiddos, took a quick trip to the consignment store and Walmart, cleaned up my very messy kitchen and part of the living room, and Jim took the kids outside for a while. Now I'm catching up the blog and hopefully heading for bed after that. :)
And speaking of bed, here is the bedding we got for Julia's bunk! Isn't it so pretty? She isn't sleeping there yet, but it is sure nice to have both bunks all made up with proper bedding now. :)
Tomorrow I hope to get another post up with a bunch of kid pictures. But for now, nighty-night!

LOVE that bedding on Julia's bed! Where'd you get it? Chloe's bed is a mess of mismatched sheets and blankets. Oh well. Eclectic is in style. :)
I'm so glad you got to go on that fun shopping day with your girlfriends! How very fun and luxurious!
Wow! You are keeping busy! I love Julia's bedding, too. It's actually very similar to mine. And aren't girls shopping days totally necessary every once in awhile? I'm so glad you got to go! And I totally agree about Olive Garden - one of my favorite places!
Alicia, I got the bedding on ebay. If you're interested, just type in "french red toile twin bedding" and you should find it. The company was putting up a new set for auction every day, starting at .99. The shipping was very high ($20) so I was determined not to pay more than $30 total. I actually got the set for $29 something, so I was very happy with that. It comes with pillow sham, comforter, bedskirt, and window valance. I have seen the sets go even cheaper than what I paid, also--some going as low as $2 something for the bedding, plus shipping . . . so it is worth keeping an eye on and being patient! I should have been a little more patient I guess . . . but I was anxious to get her bed made up. :) We don't have any sheets that match, but maybe someday.
Mary Ann, that is cool that you have similar bedding! I love toile. :) And yes, girls shopping days are awesome and so very refreshing!! Thanks for the comment--and I was happy to hear that things are moving along on your house, too. Hoping it all falls into place quickly!
