What with one thing and another, my blogging time has been limited lately! The past week seemed to just fly by. Jim was working around home (mostly on the kids' room) and I was trying to help him, and keep the kids out of his way, and keep up with the housework and meals as well as I could. We also had some snow and ice storms to make our week even more interesting. :) Last Wednesday, we had a surprise visit from these guys (or gals)--you can only see 3 in the picture but there were actually 4 . . . just couldn't get them all in the picture at once because of how they spread out. The photo quality isn't that great, since Jim was snapping the pictures through the French doors, but at least we were able to get a few decent shots.
The kids' room is almost done!!! I am so thankful that soon our house should be pretty much back to normal. On Friday night, we tackled the floor. The kids had a great time helping out at first (as you can tell by Julia's expression), and when they got bored we put on a movie for them and I helped Jim finish up. I got to run the chop saw while he did everything else. :)
Here is another part of the room. You can get an idea of how the paint looks with the wood walls and floor.
On Saturday, my parents took the kids for the WHOLE day (thanks!!!) and Jim and I had a "work date." We started out with Dunkin Donuts for breakfast, on the way to Lowe's. Then we bought a bunch of trim and a few other things. On the way home we stopped at Walmart and bought some more stuff for the room, then went out to lunch at a local seafood place, where we ate way too much . . . but boy, was it good. :) We headed home, where we set to work. I urethaned trim, while Jim touched up the paint on some of the walls. Between Saturday and Sunday, he got most of the trim up--there's just a little bit left to do. We put Sam's bunk bed back together last night and he was so happy to get to sleep in it again. We plan to move Julia's crib back in tonight (she went to bed before we were finished in there last night) and hopefully over the next few days Jim will have time to finish the remaining trim so we can move the dressers back in. I'm planning to make curtains and a Roman shade; I have all the fabric, but not all the materials for the shade yet (our Walmart doesn't have a very extensive craft dept, so I think I'll have to visit a JoAnn Fabrics to get the rest of the stuff). I'm hoping to at least get the curtains done this week (yet another project to add to my sewing challenge!).
Speaking of which, I've been able to complete the 2 gifts that were on my list, over the past couple weeks. Yay! After the curtains are done, I hope to get my maternity jumper finished so I can actually wear it a few times before baby arrives. :)
And speaking of the pregancy, I'm at about 30 weeks now. I was scheduled to have a midwife appt. today, but we rescheduled due to weather and the fact that she will be in our area later this week, so she will just stop in then to do my checkup. Sounds good to me!
I wanted to send out late birthday wishes to our nephew Isaac, who turned 6 last week, as well as big congratulations to two of my friends who had babies last week. Zan (a fellow NH gal who I've gotten to know through blogging) had her third son on Tues., and Linda (a friend from way back) had her 6th little one, a girl, early Saturday. Congrats to both of you ladies and your families!!
Today ended up being pretty warm (high 30s) and Jim was able to clear all the snow off the deck. I helped some, and so did Sam. Jim is looking forward to the day when Sam is big enough to take over this job completely! :) Sam and Julia are both getting to be really good helpers in various ways. In fact, one of Julia's newest phrases is "I helpin' !" After coming inside, they both conked out on the couch while watching a train DVD. I'll have to wake them soon so they will sleep tonight!
Well, I better wrap this up for now and go get some supper ready. I'm making an easy mac 'n cheese which is a big favorite around here. Hope you all have a great week . . . and hopefully I'll have time to blog a bit more so I won't have to write such a long post to catch up. :)

You sure have been productive! Can't wait to see pictures of the finished work!
I'm totally jealous of all that snow. The kids must have a ball playing in it!
You must be so excited about the kids room getting finished! I love getting things done around the house. We had a moose we saw on our way to church almost every Sunday since Sept. Yesterday the game warden had to put it down, people had been feeding it things a moose should not eat and it got very sick. We were thankful to have gotton several good pics of it. Hope all goes well at your 30 week check-up. I'll keep an eye out for an update. Loved the picture of Sam working - keep up the good work it really will pay off!!
Have a great day!

Great pictures! The one with the deer was awesome! You must be thrilled to see things coming together. We still need to do the boys' rooms before little Marcus arrives. Three months may seem like a long time but I have a feeling that it will fly by! I hope that you are feeling well these days:).
