Making Your Home a Haven Challenge--Day 1

Crystal at Biblical Womanhood is doing a new challenge, and I think it's just what I need since my November challenge fizzled out in those last couple weeks! Today there were 3 parts to the challenge:

1. Refresh your spirit (personal quiet time): check!
2. Plan (make a list of 5 things to do every morning): check! And here's my list (which may need to be tweaked in the future):
  • Make bed
  • Shower and dress
  • Quiet time
  • Breakfast
  • Empty dishwasher
3. Do something! Today's focus was on the entry area. I did take a "before" picture, but it came out to dark to post. Here is an "after" picture, though. And a picture of our hutch with the newly set up creche, which is on the other side of the entry. I also washed the inside glass on the French doors and hung our Christmas wreaths outside. I vacuumed the rugs, but they're messy again . . . that's life when there's a major snowstorm going on outside, and hubby is in and out from plowing and shoveling, with wet/dirty boots! I am happy with the more uncluttered feeling of the entry now, though--it was really bad before! I'm hoping I can keep it nice and neat. Now . . . I have a lot to tackle in the kitchen, because it is NOT a haven, LOL! :)

If you want to be inspired, be sure to stop by Crystal's blog and see what others are doing to clean and beautify their homes!

Great job Carrie! You are so together. I can't wait until the renovation projects are over. Everything else has suffered but I only have so much energy and there are only so many hours in a day. Oh well, when our family room is done, I will rejoice and take lots of pictures to post:).
