Lunch on the train

Today we got to take a train ride! We found out yesterday about a special 2 hour train trip that was leaving from a nearby town. Jim decided to at least check into it and find out if we could still reserve seats. We could, and did! The kids rode and ate for free, which is always nice. :)

Happy Sam and Daddy
and Mommy and Julia
There was a lamp like this in every window--which Sam thought was very cool.
Looking out the window as the journey begins
We saw some beautiful scenery, including parts of 3 lakes.

Lunch was a turkey dinner with all the trimmings, catered by a local restaurant. Very yummy! For dessert, there were Hershey's sundae cups--a big hit with our kiddos. Sam even shared a few bites of his with Julia (who had already shared a good bit of Mommy's :)).
The kids did well for the whole trip and Julia charmed everyone around us with her constant smiling. Sam spent most of his time looking out the window or eating. :) A fun time was had by all!

Love the pictures!! What a fun family outing especially for Sam, who loves trains so much. I love his baseball hat - so cute. The picture of he and Julia sharing the ice cream is very sweet. I am so glad that you had a wonderful time.:)
