Presidential candidate question

I've been thinking of writing this post for a while, but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Crystal over at Biblical Womanhood had a similar question up last week and it was interesting to see the responses. We are undecided at this point who we will vote for in the primary. I am personally leaning toward Huckabee; I've heard a lot of good things about him. But I want to learn more and read more about all the candidates. I like Ron Paul in some ways but not so much in others. I heard John McCain on the radio last week and thought he had some good things to say. I've also heard some good things about Thompson. I'm not impressed with Giuliani, nor would Romney be my first choice, but of course I would much rather see him in the White House than Hillary. So I'm curious, which of the candidates has impressed you? Have you decided for sure yet who you will vote for? Please keep comments polite and friendly; I'm not trying to start a debate. :)

It's between Romney, Huckabee or Thompson. We'll see as the race gets closer. The biggest issue that gets my vote is whether or not the candidate is pro-life or not. I just could not support anyone who de-values human life in any way. All other issues are secondary. Well, that's my 2 cents. We'll see how things shape up. I hope that you are doing well!

I'm voting for John McCain. He is very pro-life and has been throughout his Senate career. he is also pro-adoption, having adopted a girl from Mother Theresa's orphanage in Bangladesh.

I like Huckabee, but I don't think he could win against Hillary.

Romney is OK, but he has switched on a lot of different issues, which is his perogative, but I would rather vote for someone with a solid history.

I have no idea about Thompson. I was excited about him, but now...He is very unexciting.

If Guilliani wins the primary, I will vote for him. If Hillary wins she could appoint up to 3 supreme court judges and I feel that Guilliani will make more fair decisions regarding that. Even former presidential canidate Gary Bauer(a Christian) has encouraged Christians to vote for Guilliani in the general election because things will be so much worse under Hillary.

I don't think the war will end under Hillary, either. I think it will be extended.

Ron Paul? No.

Sorry to go on and on.

I would definitely say Ron Paul. He would definitely be the best for the country from a constitutional and economic standpoint. He also has a very strong pro-life position. He is good on gun control, taxes, the proper place of the federal government, etc. The issues and articles section of his website it very helpful. Go to RonPaul2008.com and check it out.

I have not decided yet who to vote for in the primary. I need to learn more about Huckabee, though. So far, he's the frontrunner for me. I have found some clips online from the debates, which is nice. I had an interesting discussion with my husband recently about the dangers of voting for the lesser of two evils (ie, voting for whomever is opposite Hillary no matter what they stand for). It was food for thought! I will definitely vote my conscience, and trust God with the outcome.

We really like Ron Paul. I love the fact that he is an OB/GYN and has the "credentials" to back it up when he says abortion is never needed to "save the life of the mother". We have also been impressed with his integrity and social/economic policies. We don't agree with how this war is being handled and from what we've heard Huckabee is very much pro-government and pro-war so that has turned us off to him. Also, I just don't think he can get the support. Ron Paul has a large following (although you hardly hear about it) and raised over $5 million for his campaign so he's right up there with the others. Sorry to be longwinded, we really do like Ron Paul alot :)
