Last night I did something really dumb. We had just come home from grocery shopping, and I totally wasn't paying attention and shut my finger in the Suburban door. OW!!! Now it'll be interesting to see if the nail turns black or something fun like that. :( It hurt really bad all night, but has been feeling better today. I can't take anything to help with the pain because of being pregnant, so I've had to grin and bear it. :) Well, at least when I do something stupid like that, it usually helps me remember to pay attention in the future. Once during my college years, I poured boiling water on my hand instead of into a mug. Now, every time I pour water from a teakettle, I'm SO careful to keep my hand out of the way.
Today our bird feeder is very busy! Jim fixed it last week (a bear had broken it apart last spring because we didn't take it in soon enough) and we put it up last Friday. I was happy that it only took the birds about a week to discover the food this time. Last year, they never really started coming until mid-winter! So far we've had chickadees (my favorites), tufted titmice, nuthatches, some kind of small brown and white birds, and one very large blue jay.
We rearranged some things in our house this week. My main goal was to move the computer out into the living area (it had been in our bedroom up till now). I really wanted it to be in a more central location. So we moved it into the entry area and I like it so much better! We moved the rolltop desk that used to be in the entry into the living room, putting it where the TV used to be. Then we moved the TV to where the couch had been, and put the couch where the piano had been, and moved the piano into our bedroom where the computer used to be! Whew! I don't really love having the piano in our bedroom, but that's the only place it will fit right now. Hopefully within the next year or so, we can build our much-needed addition, giving us some extra living and bedroom space!
I have a new favorite cooking website to share--Tammy's Recipes. Actually I've browsed the site now and then over the past year or so, but keep forgetting to add a link to my blog. Anyway, check it out! There are some fabulous looking recipes there, and I love how she has pictures of all of them. Very yummy looking pictures, I might add! Right now I have dough in the bread machine for making the whole wheat pitas. There is also a cream-filled pumpkin cupcake recipe which I hope to try soon. And so many others!
Well, I need to go think about getting supper ready now. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

YUM! Cream filled pumpkin cupcakes! I might have to try that one, too! I'd love to see some pictures of your "new" living room!
Ouchy! Hope your finger's feeling better today. Let me know how the whole wheat pitas turn out; I've never tried making pitas at all bcuz I usually pick them up cheap at a local store. I'm with Jenny, those cream filled pumpkin cupcakes sound like a delicious fall treat!
I hope that your finger heals soon. I haven't done anything like that in a long, long time but I remember that it hurt when I did.
You've inspired me to fill my feeder again. We have three stupid squirrels that hog all of the seed, scare the birds and destroy the feeder. I hate the idea of filling it to feed those pesky critters.
You'll have to post pics of your newly arranged place. I'm glad that you have things in a more convenient place (aside from the piano - hee, hee).
I have Tammy's Recipes bookmarked but haven't checked it out in a while. Those cupcakes sound yummy! I LOVE homemade pitas! My caterer friend made the best ones and I would pay her to make them for me. She gave me her recipe but I've yet to make them. One of these days...
I hope that you are feeling well and taking care of yourself. Try not to smash anything else in a car door - okay? Take care:).
