Homeschooling Hump Day #2

For today's Homeschooling Hump Day, here's a link to a great website that Joanne shared with me. Brightly Beaming Resources has some great free printable curriculum, and I'm looking forward to using some of it with Sam. I think I will be working on teaching him reading through this year (if he seems ready), and the Letter of the Week curriculum sounds really good. I love how it's all laid out and very well organized by each week, which will be especially helpful for me, as a beginning homeschooling mom. I hope some of you will enjoy checking out this site, as well!

Thanks to Linda and Mrs. T for the links you shared last week! It will be fun to see what links and advice others have, as time goes by. I know that probably the majority of my readers are young moms like me, who don't have school-age kids yet, or may not be planning to homeschool, and that's fine! But if any of you come across helpful sites in your web surfing, please feel free to share them!

I'll try and catch up on my comments later today. Hope you are all having a great week!

Here are a couple of my favorite links. There are lots of free printables on these two sites.

And this is the curriculum I used for Levi in K. If I had continued in homeschooling, I would have continued using Sonlight. It was a great fit for us. Even if you're not going to use this particular curriculum, you could get some great book recommendations from their lists.

Thanks for the site - I have been trying to think of what to do with Caleb (3) this year and I think A letter a day would be perfect (He actually can identiy them already). I was thinking of having the ABC scripture verse for the week, sing songs starting with those letters, learning their sounds and how to write them as well as coloring or doing an art project to go along with it. Thanks for the great start (I did all that brainstorming today and plan to start next Monday!)
