Happily Ever After :)

Yesterday we celebrated our eighth anniversary!! Unbelievable. I think I can honestly say that we have both learned and grown so much in the past eight years. We have had plenty of challenges, ups and downs, and faith-stretching experiences . . . and I'm sure there are many more to come! But our life together has been so good, so much fun . . . so full of joy, and I wouldn't trade places with anyone. :)

Anniversaries are a bit more challenging to celebrate once kids come along . . . our first 4 anniversaries were BC (before children) and we got to have some little getaways, which just aren't possible right now. But that's OK--I wouldn't trade the kiddos for anything, either. :) We didn't do anything to celebrate yesterday, but hopefully we'll get to go out for dinner on Friday, or sometime soon. We also hope to have a star-gazing date this weekend, as there is supposed to be a meteor shower on Sunday. We got to watch one last year, and it was SO cool!

Today was another rainy day, for the most part. Jim took the day off again due to the weather, and came up with the plan of going candlepin bowling this morning. (Candlepin uses very small balls--I'm not sure but I think it may be a New England thing; Jim had never heard of it until he met me!). Anyway, it is a nice way to indroduce little kids to bowling. :) Sam, Jim, and I played, and Sam loved it. Julia had fun watching, for most of the time, but got pretty fussy toward the end. Next time we go, maybe we'll leave her with my parents and give Sam a special outing. Sam scored pretty high (thanks to bumpers). Mommy should have used bumpers, too. I am not a good bowler with the big balls, and even worse with candlepin! Jim was the winner, with a score of 90, Sam got 75, and I ended up with 60--oh the shame of it! The machine wasn't always scoring correctly, either, so who knows what our accurate scores were. It said Jim got a strike once, and he still had several pins standing! Anyway, we had a fun time and it was a nice little outing. I had the camera with me, but completely forgot to bring it in the bowling alley, so unfortunately I have no pics of Sam's first bowling adventure. Oh well--hopefully next time.

Well, I still need to catch up on comments; maybe I'll get to that tomorrow. Sorry I have gotten a bit behind on them! As always, I do appreciate each one. :) I hope you are all having a wonderful week!
