Off to PA

Well, we will hopefully be on our way in a few minutes . . . thanks for the comments from everyone and sorry I haven't had a chance to respond! I will be back to blogging next Tuesday, Lord willing. Have a great weekend!

Hope you all had fun in PA. I'm sure that you are glad to be back as there is no place like home. I had to let you know that I made your baguette recipe. YUMMY!! I sampled some and froze them for further use. I had to use bread flour though as my all-purpose was gone:). I also didn't have kosher or sea salt. Do you find that the sea salt makes a difference? I was curious as I have never used it before. I am tempted to pick some up at the store. I just wanted to thank you for a "keeper" recipe. I told my sisters about it and they want the recipe as well. You're famous! Anyway, have a great day and thanks again. Anytime you want to post a recipe or two is fine with me:).

I hope you had a restful and fun time in PA. I wanted to comment and tell you that I just discovered that our library has the entire Melendy series that you did a book review of a ways back! Yeah! I got out "The Saturdays" and look forward to reading the series aloud to our children this summer!

Rachel, I'm so glad you liked the baguettes! I really don't know if the sea salt makes a difference. I just started using it about a year ago or so, because I heard it was somewhat healthier/more natural than regular table salt. I think it also maybe has more flavor. I guess the very "best" kind (healthiest) is pink--I just buy white, though. I think the brand is Baleine (not sure of the spelling). I hope your sisters will enjoy the recipe, too! Of course the full credit goes to the "French Women Don't Get Fat" lady. :) LOL.

Mindee, that is awesome that you found the Melendy books at your library!! They are really good. I think your oldest and probably middle would definitely "get" them--they may be a little over the head of the little guy, but then again, maybe not. :) At any rate, you will probably enjoy them yourself!
