Julia and Samantha

I found an old American Girl doll catalog a few days ago, and got it out to show Julia. I was curious to see what she thought of all the dolls. She seemed to enjoy looking at them, but she got really excited when I got out my own doll, Samantha, for her to look at. Of course, she is way to young to be allowed to actually play with Samantha . . . but someday Samantha will be hers. :) I got especially excited about having a daughter, when I realized that I will get to re-live my childhood enjoyment of playing with dolls, along with Julia. :) I would love to get her another American Girl someday. When I was a child, there were only 3 being made--Kirsten, Samantha and Molly. I got Samantha and Joanna got Molly. But now there are a lot more of them--Kit (from the 1930s) is one of my personal favorites. Maybe Julia will get Kit someday . . but of course I would let her get the one she liked, which may not be the same one her mommy would pick out. :)

Anyway, here are a few pictures to show you how much Julia liked "meeting" Samantha.

"I want to give you a great big kiss!"
"Oh, Samantha, I just LOVE your shoes! Where did you get them?"
"What's the matter, Samantha? Am I that boring to talk to?"

That kissing photo is so cute! You are a very witty caption writer, by the way. :) I think maybe mommy needs to get Kit and Julia can get a new dolly too. That way you'll both be happy. I'm with you, Kit is way cute.

Too cute! Bitty baby would be perfect for Julia's first doll. Girls are so much fun, aren't they? :)

Alicia, thanks for the comment--I usually don't have good ideas for captions, but these pictures gave me some inspiration! :) Hmmmm, I think that is a great idea for Mommy to get Kit and Julia to get a dolly too! I'll have to start saving up over the next few years. :) Another one of the dolls that I loved was Felicity, but I think they retired her. I think Kit is so adorable; I just love her freckles.

Mindee, I think you're right--we will have to save up for a Bitty Baby in a couple years! :) We've been thinking of getting her a baby doll (just a cheapie one) for her first birthday; I think she would already have fun with one but I don't think she is quite ready for a nicer one like Bitty. And yes, girls are tons of fun!!
