Scenes from the past weekend
What a nice weekend we enjoyed! Cool, crisp days with some time spent outdoors, and chilly nights where it feels good to snuggle under extra layers of blankets. :) On Saturday, both the little ones took a good long nap, and I finally had time to decorate a bit for fall. This is definitely my favorite season to decorate for!! I made the wreath that you see here, for our front entry. I used Mrs. Wilt's chalkboard in the middle idea and I was very pleased with how it turned out! I was also able to add fall leaves and ivy to some of my living room furniture (piano, table, and desk) to accent the pictures and other stuff that is displayed there.
Here's another picture from Saturday--after Julia's bath. She just looks so cute all wrapped up in her towel! :)
On Sunday, we were actually able to make it to church! The kids and I had missed the past 2 Sundays because both of them had colds. It was so nice to be able to go again. Julia did really well this week; they only had to page me once to nurse her, towards the end of the morning service. Then I was able to go to the whole ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship) hour and also the evening service without having to be called out again! One of the ladies even commented that she should get the "good natured award" when I went to pick her up after ABF. I guess she had been smiling up a storm!
I really enjoyed the ABF hour. The classes are age-divided, and all the 25-37 year olds are in one room, but the ladies are at 3 tables and the men are at 3 tables. I know a few of the ladies at my table, and I'm looking forward to getting to know the others. Our teacher is a lady who has a lot of children, and I think it will be neat to gain some wisdom from her as she shares examples from her family from time to time. The ABF study this year is on the book of Ephesians. I think it's going to be really good!
Jim, Sam and I had a fun time outside on Sunday afternoon, while Julia napped. Sam and Daddy took a tractor ride together, then we spent some time planting daffodil bulbs that a friend had given us (thanks again, if you're reading this!!). There were a lot of them, and I'm so excited to see if they come up next spring. I hope so!! We also transplanted some jewel weed, which will probably spread like crazy, and a pale corydalis plant which I discovered out in the backyard. It has the cutest little flowers, and I'm hopeful that it may spread a bit, too. I just love flowers, and I'm looking forward to planting more next year, and brightening up our rocky acreage. I also really want to have a vegetable garden next year . . . we will see!
Here are a couple pictures from Sunday afternoon:
I hope you all had as nice of a weekend as we did!!

NIce pictures!
Your wreath came out great -- so colorful and autumnal! And I love the little illustrations -- is it an acorn and a leaf? -- on the chalkboard. What fun!
Thanks for the compliment! And yes, it's an acorn and leaf--at least it's supposed to be. :)
