Question of the Week: More about you!

I've seen a few other blogs do this, so I thought I would give it a try. I've come up with a few questions to find out more about my readers, and I'll share my answers as well. Have fun!

1. What's your favorite season?

As I said before, I really have trouble deciding between spring and fall. I think fall does win by a small margin, though--it's just such a gorgeous time of year.

2. Do you prefer crunchy or creamy peanut butter (or none at all)?

I like mine creamy, pretty much always, although I don't mind crunchy for a change of pace on occasion.

3. Do you collect anything?

Well, I seem to collect clutter . . . :) But aside from that, I really like to collect moose decorations, and anything that fits with my woodsy type theme in our home. My husband would tell you that I also collect shoes (I've been nicknamed "Imelda" by my family.) And I have a pretty good collection of spoons from various states and a few foreign countries; most were given to me, as I haven't traveled to a whole lot of places!

4. Do you use a Mac or a PC?

We like Macs. We got hooked on them by Jim's brother and they are user-friendly most of the time. :) They also have the advantage of rarely getting viruses, and overall seem to have less problems than PCs (or so I assume, considering how many of my friends have PCs that crash a lot!) We haven't yet had a new one; someday we would like to invest in a new iMac. But our new OS makes this one feel new, which is cool!

5. Gas or diesel vehicles?

Well, we would LIKE to have all diesels. However, we currently have a diesel truck and two gas-hog Suburbans, one of which we're trying to sell. At least the newer Suburban gets better mileage than the old one . . . and the gas prices seem to be going down, as least for now. :)

6. How would you describe your decorating style?

Well, I really like the lodge type of look, as mentioned above. However, we will never have the "perfect" lodge look unless Jim builds us a lot more log furniture! We have been blessed by many various pieces of hand-me-down furniture, a few pieces made by Jim, etc. Somehow it all blends together and I try to keep similar colors in the rooms to tie everything together. Our living room and bedroom have a lot of dark red, green, and cream in them. Also a little bit of dark blue. Sam and Julia's room will be different--more of a cowboy theme with primary colors. My kitchen will eventually be cream and dark green, although it used to have a blue and white theme. I still love blue and white, though, so I have a lot of those colors around, too. I guess you could say that I'm pretty much eclectic in my decorating tastes. :)

Well, that's it. Just a few things that came to mind, so I hope you all will have fun with it. I'll try to think of more questions and do more of these periodically.

By the way, our baby niece or nephew still has not made his or her appearance! Jo's contractions were apparently a false alarm, but of course things could begin again any time. I'll be sure to post when the baby does arrive!

1. Fall

2. Crunchy, though for years I preferred creamy. Proof that tastes still change even in midlife!

3. Strawberry items, seasonal decorating items, vintage Christmas stuff, several patterns of green & white/cream dinnerware: Colonial Homestead by Royal; Old Curiousity Shop; Pastoral by Homer Laughlin; also some Fiesta ware and some 1930s Hall's Kitchenware. And cookbooks -- though I haven't collected those intentionally!

4. Mac.

5. Gas, at the moment.

6. Granny chic?? Maybe in some areas -- but I also like the woodsy, lodge look.

Thanks to all of you for sharing your comments! They were a lot of fun to read. :) I'll have to think of some more questions for another post like this sometime.
