Moms for Modesty

Now that I'm the mommy of a little girl, I spend more time looking around in the baby girls'/little girls' clothing sections. Let me tell you, there are a lot of adorable baby girl clothes, and I definitely have to watch myself, lest I get carried away and spend too much! But I've also noticed what a lot of other moms have: the girls' clothes aren't so cute anymore from about 3-4T on up. Sadly, the trend today is to make our little girls look like a mini-version of the not-so-nicely dressed teen girls that we see everywhere. This is NOT what I want for my precious little daughter, not now or when she's a teen, for that matter. I'm not saying that I'm planning to dress her in frilly little tea-party dresses every day of her life! But I would like to see more cute, modest, well-made apparel for little girls.

Anyway, all that to say that I appreciate what Everyday Mommy is doing with her "Moms for Modesty" campaign. Hopefully it may get the attention of some retailers and let them see that there are plenty of moms out there who would love to see more appropriate styles for our little girls. I'd like to encourage you all to check out her site and add your comments--the more moms who get in on this, the more of a difference it could make!

Thanks to Crystal for the link!

Yes, thank goodness for eBay!! :) That's the only way I could afford some of those brands--that, and the second-hand store! I do think it's so sad that nice girls' clothes are so hard to find these days. :(
