This is more like it!

At long last, almost the end of October, we have a gorgeous fall day. With all the rain we've had lately, the fall this year has been on the depressing side. But today is a welcome change! If only Jim was around to enjoy it with us . . . but alas, he is busy taking a hunter's safety course which is from 8-5 today, 8-12 tomorrow, and began with a 2 hour class on Weds. night, as well. It sure is a lot of trouble to get a hunting license in this state. Once he gets his license, it remains to be seen, of course, whether he ever has time to go hunting, or happens to get a deer when he does. And I'm not even very fond of venison. However, maybe I can aquire a taste for it. It would definitely help out with a meat supply for the winter--if only we can find tasty ways to prepare it. I think it would be cool if he ever got to hunt a moose! Not that I relish the thought of him killing one of those awesome creatures, but I've heard moose meat is very tasty and wouldn't it be cool to have a moose head to hang on the wall? :) Or at least the antlers . . . I'm not sure I want to dust a big ol'moose head all the time.

Anyway, how did I get off on all that?! :D

Sam and I went out and about a little bit; took my mom to the new Marshalls store in town, then back to her house for a while, and she watched Sam while I ran to Walmart for a bit. I was on the hunt for a black ribbed turtleneck, something I have long desired to own and just never got around to buying. Well, I didn't have any luck at Marshalls, but I found 2 that I liked at Walmart, so I got them both. I may take one of them back, depending on how I like it with the particular skirt I want to wear it with, but the other will work well for a good, basic turtleneck and I should be able to wear it layered under things, even while pregnant.

Well, I really should take advantage of the rest of Sam's snoozing time and load the dishwasher, start the pizza dough, and work on a dessert I need to make for tomorrow night after church. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, and don't forget to set your clocks back tonight!! (If I say that enough times, to enough people, maybe I'll actually remember to do it myself!) :)
