I was looking back to my first post today and discovered it's been exactly 6 months since I started blogging. So, happy blog-aversary to me! :)
I started feeling icky last night and woke up with a full-fledged cold this morning. I think Sam has a touch of it, too. I'm hoping it won't last long. Jim finally arrived home in his new truck, sometime after 9 last night. I took a couple of pics of it this morning; hope to get them posted later. One correction: in my post yesterday I said it was a 1998 model, but it is actually a 1997. I was getting it mixed up with another truck he was interested in.
I've decided I don't like the castile soap as shampoo; I don't think it likes my hair, either. Does anyone else out there use a natural shampoo or conditioner (either commercial or homemade) that they could recommend? Please let me know if you do! I hate wasting my money on trying all different kinds, and I'm having a hard time tracking down something that I like. My hair is long (mid-way down my back), in the normal to dry range. The castile soap leaves it feeling lanolized . . . I had the same trouble with some Burt's Bees products that I tried (one of which did contain lanolin). I've also tried using baking soda to wash it, and rinsing with cider vinegar. This feels nice for once in a while, but doing it every day seems to completely strip the hair of oils, etc, and leaves it feeling yucky. Anyway, feel free to comment with recommendations!
Well, I have plenty to do around here, although I don't feel like doing much of anything . . . gotta keep going, though. :)

I think I have hair a lot like yours. I used to try a lot of different shampoos but they would all leave my ends dry and the rest of my hair icky. I use Nioxin. You can only get it at salons and it is expensive but lasts a long time. I use the cleanser and scalp therapy. I also only wash my hair every other day. I allow myself very few cosmetic things that cost alot of money but I do splurge on my shampoo and it is totally worth it. My sister uses it too and she has hair down past her waist. She loves it. Try to stay away from shampoo that has alcohol as its first ans second ingrediants. Hope this was helpful.

Thanks for the recommendation, Zan! I checked out Nioxin a little online; do you use the Bionutrients Actives or the Smooth Actives (or protectives)--if I understand correctly, the protectives would only be for if my hair was permed or colored (which it's not), so I assume I would want the actives. I know some of their products are geared toward fine, thinning hair, while mine is thick and has lots of body; does that make a difference? Any help you can give is appreciated! :)
I don't use the stuff for color. I was using just the bionutrients but recently have started using their smooting actives. It is supposed to help with the fuzzies. My sister's hair is really thick and long and she just uses the bionutrients. I recommend the cleanser and the scalp therapy. Sometimes you can buy it in bulk a tJC Penneys. I know that you live up in the northern part of NH and that there are probably no Penneys around. They should have it at the beauty parlor. If you get your hair trimmed there they might even give you a samople. My place gives out samples.
