I just finished washing our French door windows. They look so bright and sparkly now!! (All except the big splotch of paint that I'll have to take a razor blade to.) :) Right now I'm not sure where to look for a razor blade, nor do I feel like tackling that particular project right now, so I'll save it for another day. Still, it's a huge feeling of accomplishment just to get the windows done. The doors are gorgeous, but they came out of the "bargain barn" at a local store, so they had some accumulation of dirt, grime, etc. that I just hadn't gotten around to cleaning off yet. Now I shouldn't have to do them again for a while.
Jim is on his way to CT with a friend, to pick up our new addition. No, we're not adopting a child or getting a pet--the new addition is a shiny, bright-red-with-stainless-trim, 1998, 4-wheel-drive Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel pickup truck. Oh, and did I mention it's red? :) This is Jim's dream truck. It's been kept in immaculate condition, treated like a baby, and he can't wait to be sitting in the driver's seat. He was able to sell his current truck to a friend, we were approved for a loan for the rest of the money, and so, here we are. It was so cool to see God open the doors one by one on this. Jim was the first one to call the guy about it; then we got approved for the loan; it's only 4 hours away from us, so not too bad of a drive; then he was able to sell his old truck, so we were able to get an even smaller loan. And the amazing thing is, that although I'm usually a huge worrywart where money is concerned, and especially borrowing money, I feel complete peace about this. We have been wanting a 4 wheel drive for some time; where we live, it will be a lot better than 2 wheel. It's so awesome to see how the Lord provided just exactly what Jim has always wanted. Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures of it later! :)
I'm not sure yet what I think of the shampoo experiment. It was really thin and watery; I think I'd like it better without adding water to it. So I may try making another batch. I like shampoo to have a bit of substance to it, so you can lather it into your hair, rather than just pouring it on and trying to rub it around on top of your hair.
Well, I'm hoping to make a special celebratory dinner tonight, including apple pie, so I best get busy. Hope everyone is having a happy week!
