New Mown Hay

I really don't have a lot to write about, but I'm on a roll this week and thought I'd like to see if I could write here for the 4th day in a row. :)

We've had such lovely weather this week, and my uncle has started haying the field across the road. The scent of the new mown hay is delicious. That has to be one of my very favorite scents in the whole world! And I've discovered the best time to enjoy it is during the late evening, after putting Sam to bed, when I'm sitting here at the computer with the front door open. The light breeze drifts through the screen door, bringing with it this wonderful smell of the hay. Ahhhh . . . .This is probably one of the only things I'll miss about living in this particular spot after we move!

I'd love to hear from my readers . . . what is the smell (or more than one) that awakens your senses and that you just love most? I have more that I'm thinking of, but first, I would like to hear what others come up with. Share away! :) Don't be shy!

Good night, everyone!

I've always loved the smell of grass that has just been mowed, and am so thankful that I'm not alergic to it as some people are. Bread baking - or really anything baking, like granola or goodies - is another favorite. Mom always says "Smells like someone cares!", and I whole-heartedly agree.

Thanks for your comment, Gail! I love what your mom's saying, "Smells like someone cares!" What a great way to put it. I like the smell of anything baking, too. :)

Hope you're having a great week!! :)

oops, well, what I meant to say was "I love your mom's saying," not "WHAT your mom's saying"--duh! That's what I get for not previewing! :D
