My heart is heavy tonight after hearing about the tragic school shooting in Connecticut. I held my own little ones a bit more tightly, thinking about the families who dropped off a child at school this morning, just a normal day . . . whose lives have now turned upside down with grief and loss. As the Bible says, truly we don't know what a day may bring forth, and our lives are like a vapor. My thoughts are prayers are with all the families who lost a loved one today, and the community that is left reeling from a senseless tragedy.
Life is a gift . . . let's treasure it and remember that each day, each moment with our families is a blessing.

Amen. We never know what a day may bring forth. It seems especially hard because these were little children and it is Christmas time. We need to be faithful in keeping those families and that community in our prayers. And yes, to cherish every moment with our own families.
