Life's little pleasures

{me with one of the beautiful chickadee mugs I received from my parents for Christmas}

Do you have any special little pleasures that make life more fun and relaxing? I do. Lately my little pleasures involve reading after the kids go to bed. Sometimes I will run a hot bath with a few drops of lavender essential oil, and soak while enjoying a favorite book or magazine (don't worry--no borrowed books, only my own--just in case ;)) Other times I will curl up in the warm cozy living room with a cup of tea (right now it's lemon zinger with honey--because I'm fighting a cold) and my current read. Still other times I love to snuggle in bed and read a chapter before drifting off to sleep.

In fact, I think I am going to go and do just that . . . :)

Sound SO GOOD, Carrie! Wish I could do that but my online job is calling right now. :( What book are you currently reading?

I like to light a candle to make me feel cozy or get me in the mood to just be home and make my house spiffy. I do love the silence and solitude of the house after the boys are in bed, but sadly haven't been reading much lately. Any book rec's? I also love a pretty mug to have coffee or hot chocolate in. :)

I agree - a good book before bed is definitely one of life's pleasures! Right now I am working my way through all of The Chronicles of Narnia. Such fun reading - I don't know why I didn't read them before. I love your little Chickadee mug - so pretty!

I picked up a cardinal coffee mug a few years back at a yard sale. It is beautiful! I love it and drink tea from it almost daily. It is the simple pleasures!

Thanks for all the comments! :) My current book is Sarah Palin's "America by Heart." Enjoying it very much! For a really relaxing book I like fiction. Some of my faves: The Gresham Chronicles by Lawana Blackwell (Christian) . . . regency romances and also murder mysteries by Georgette Heyer (not Christian--kinda reminds me of Agatha Christie) . . . anything by LM Montgomery . . . Mitford series by Jan Karon . . . I could go on and on. :) I LOVE books!!!
