Home again, home again!

Actually, we got home from our Ohio trip late Sunday night. :) But this is the first time I've had a chance to sit down and post something! We have been slowly settling back into normal life. I have SO much to post about--get ready for a slew of pictures and stories about our trip!

I do have some good news to report--Jim got a couple of calls about work after we got home! They are just small jobs, but will definitely help out a lot. Praise the Lord! We haven't heard anything back about the job he had applied for in early July, so we're assuming that one's been filled by now. We're trusting God to provide the work he needs and give us clear direction if he should apply for other regular jobs. In the meantime, we're very thankful he has something to do! :)

I have to share this cute Sam story from yesterday. This is a conversation that took place while we were driving to town.
Sam: "Mommy, do churches have power lines that run under the floors like houses do?"
Me: "Yes, they do."
Sam (in a disappointed tone): "Oh. (sigh) That's too bad. I was hoping God just kept the lights on in the church because it's HIS house."
That one really brought a smile to my face! :)

Tomorrow is our anniversary. I don't think we're going to anything big to celebrate--maybe another weekend soon we'll go out for a dinner date, but tomorrow maybe we'll all go for a picnic somewhere, and a hike or a drive or something. Our anniversary kind of sneaked up on us this year, but I am very excited to be celebrating 11 years of marriage to my sweetie!

Our new batch of baby robins is growing up fast! We weren't home when they hatched, but I'm guessing they were around a week old yesterday. One of them has some kind of bulge or blister on its neck, where no feathers will grow. It looks weird, but the bird seems healthy enough. Jim also discovered nest of baby juncos in our yard. We haven't showed that one to the kids because it is on the ground and we don't want them to mess with it. The babies look to be around 2 days old. It'll be interesting to compare their growth and development with the robins. The juncos could open their eyes a bit already within one day! I've been taking pics of them when I can sneak over to the nest without the kids around. I'll probably post a few here when I get around to it.

Well, that's just a little update on us . . . I'll try to post again sooner than later. :)
