Weighing in: Week 6

{image courtesy of www.sxc.hu}

Sorry I'm a day late getting this posted! I didn't lose any more weight last week, but I didn't gain any more, either. So I'm fairly happy with that. Starting this week, I'm making more of an effort to avoid snacks and sweets. I'm also trying (again!) to be consistent with exercise. I only did my workout twice again this past week, due to laziness and business . . . mostly laziness. :) Over the past 6 weeks, I've definitely noticed some positive changes and I think I've lost some inches, although I forgot to track that from the beginning of my challenge. Anyway, I am pleased enough with my progress that I'm feeling more motivated than ever to drop the last 9 lbs. Of course, it's going slower than I'd like . . . but I think that's usually the way it is with weight loss. :)

I've decided to set a new mini-goal. Although my ultimate goal is 9 more lbs., my mini-goal is going to be losing 4 more lbs. by April 30. That gives me more than a month, and I think it's pretty doable. My current weight is where I got "stuck" for a while before Christmas, so I am determined to go lower soon!

How are the rest of you guys doing with your goals? Let's encourage each other! :)

My diet wasn't going very well so we changed that. I'm now doing our own variation of the No S diet and so far it's working great. I've only been doing this for a couple of days though so we have a long way to go!

I haven't had any trouble keeping up with the exercising and have started doing about an hour or more each day.

So far - since we started keeping track of things here - I haven't lost any weight, but I have quite successfully gained a few pounds (which is why we changed the diet)!

Wow, an hour of exercise per day--that's awesome!!! My workout is only about 20 min. or so, but I think it's helping a little . . . at least, I hope so. :)

Today was my first day of trying the No S diet and it went fine, although it was verrrry hard not to eat a cookie after supper when everyone else was having one. :) I think I am really going to be looking forward to weekends now, more than ever!! IF I stick with it, which with my track record, is questionable . . . :)

Great job!

I don't know what the No S diet is. Tell me?
I haven't had such a great week on the scales. You know that 3 pounds I lost that I couldn't believe. Yeah, they are back. I'm just grateful they didn't bring any friends.
I exercised 6 times last week. This is the one thing I'm fairly consistent with. I'm going to have to end my love affair with sweets, I'm afraid. Which means I won't be able to visit my parents ever again (my dad's nick name is Grandpa Donut so that should give you an idea of how they are). Lol!
Anyway, thanks for keeping me accountable. I hope I have better news this week & I hope you reach your mini goal. I think you can make it!

This week I didn't do so well with walking -- 3 days out of 7 -- or with my exercise routine -- 2 days out of 5. I did pretty well with eating healthy through the week, but not so well on Sunday. I got plenty of sleep. I did drink much more water (and iced green tea) this past week, as the weather was very warm.

I really feel as if I'm not doing well at all, but I'm still trying and I guess that's the important thing. Starting today I'm trying to eat more fruits and veggies and less sugar, etc. I had been doing pretty well having sweets only on weekends, but I'm finding that more of a challenge this week.

Good for you gals with the progress!

Mary Ann, the No S diet can be found here: www.nosdiet.com . It's basic premise is "no snacks, no sweets, no seconds--except on "S" days (Sat./Sun.) and special days (birthdays, holidays, etc.). It seems pretty practical and doesn't involve a huge change in eating habits or cut out major food groups. I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes. :)

Mom, I think you are doing great! :) We all have an off week now and then--don't let it get you down!

Thanks for the encouragement, Carrie, and also for sharing the link to the No S diet. It does look really practical and simple to follow. I will vary it a little, though, and allow snacks (because any lasting weight loss I've ever achieved over the years has come about from including them). However, my snacks will be healthy ones like string cheese, fruit, veggies, etc.

Exercise is another key for me, and I need to get back on track with this now that it's stopped raining! Congratulations to all of you for the progress you're making!
