Yes indeedy, this is my 700th post on this blog. I guess that isn't much compared to the very prolific bloggers that abound, but it seems like quite a lot to me. :) Maybe when I get to 750, I'll have a giveaway!
My poor little blog has been sadly neglected over the past few weeks. I've been busy trying to get used to the homeschooling schedule, along with keeping the house semi-tidy and all the other stuff that goes along with homemaking. Also, the kids and I got walloped with a nasty head cold this past week, which has sapped my energy immensely! I've kinda just been dragging around. In fact, we've only done two days of school this week so far, and I'm not sure if we're going to try doing some today or not. At least Sam's schoolwork is so light that it's easy to play catch-up later on!
Last Saturday, we bought some v-groove pine boards at an incredible price (Craigslist!) to finish our ceilings. We have started urethaning them but it's going to take a while to get them all done. However, it's very exciting to think that hopefully sometime in the next couple months we should have wood on the remainder of our ceilings! We have been living with the red and silver foil covered insulation for years, and it will sure make an amazing difference in the look of our home when we get the wood up there. :) Can't wait to share pictures!
Our flowers are giving us one last glorious display as we finish out the summer. It has been so exciting to see new growth appear on my roses. And with our new camera, we've been able to get some really nice pictures of all the flowers, too. Here are a couple that Jim took the other day:
And the hydrangea, which is my favorite, seemed bluer this year than ever before. I'm SO happy that it's stayed blue. All hydrangeas are lovely, but none so lovely as the blue ones (in my opinion)! :)
I hope to get a couple more posts up today or tomorrow, including a homemade life one. I've been sadly lacking in homemade endeavors lately, but hopefully with Christmas coming, I'll get inspired and get some creating done. :) Hope you are all having a happy Friday!!

Congratulations on your 700th post!!! And those flower pictures are simply gorgeous. Love that blue, blue hydrangea, and the roses are amazing too. That is one great camera.
You are so lucky to have a blue hydrangea! I bought one blue, but it reverted to pink over the next year. Bummer.
And I'm so going to look up that pita recipe!
