Home Again!

Well, we are finally home again!! We ended up staying two full weeks in Ohio. Jim got the truck fixed last Friday and we left early Sunday morning (4 am!), arriving home around 6:30 pm--that’s the fastest we have ever done the trip since having kids. We only stopped 3 times in 14.5 hours! The kids did better on the trip home, but we were all very glad to see our house and get into our own beds again. :) Our trip was uneventful aside from seeing a moose about 20 minutes from home--thankfully she stayed on the other side of the road.

I am sorry I’ve been so AWOL from the blog lately. I have tons of things to write about, all spinning around in my head, but not enough time to write them yet! I’m giving myself about a week to get back into the groove of home life, and then hopefully I’ll be able to start up blogging again, along with all the other things I need to keep up with. :) Just wanted to give you all a quick update!

So glad you made it home uneventfully! I used to love road trips like that, but I'm not sure I'd be good at 14.5 hours anymore. Does Jim do all of the driving? And your kids are troopers to stop so few times! I never thought about checking for moose while driving - deer can be bad enough! ;-)

Yeah, you made it! Looking forward to seeing you soon! I hope you can smoothly get back into your routine. Sometimes kids are more resilient than us old folks. ;)

Mary Ann--yep, Jim does all the driving. What a guy!! :) I'm a total chicken about highway driving or driving in heavy traffic. Thankfully he is fine with doing it all, though he does get tired. My job is to keep him awake and keep him supplied with snacks and drinks. :)

Mindee--I'm looking forward to seeing you too! And I think the kids are starting to get caught up now and somewhat back to normal . . . although we're still dealing with some extra whining! :)
