I thought this was kind of a cute picture, even though it came out dark. I took it looking through 2 of the toys on his bouncy seat.
He rolled himself over once, probably close to a month ago. Of course I forgot to write it down at the time. He was really mad and rolled from tummy to back, but I think it was only because he was mad, since it hasn't happened again. He loves to squeal, laugh, and "talk" to us. He gets a huge kick out of his big brother and sister and they love to interact with him, as well.
As you can see by this picture, he's starting to chub up pretty nicely. :) And he now fits into his "born at home" shirt that Sherry (my midwife) gave him! Now he can wear it everywhere and I can enjoy fielding the interesting comments. :D (And I really will enjoy it since I love to give homebirth a plug whenever I can!)

Josiah is getting so big, and he is adorable. You know most of my kids reached a few milestones because they were mad or frustrated.
What a cute little man! I doubt anyone could mistake him for a girl. He is ALL boy. :) I'm so glad that things are going so well for you. Have you settled into a routine yet?
Marcus just turned 8 weeks old yesterday and I still have to nurse him 2-3 times a night. I'm not worried about it though. He eats and burps so quickly that I hardly realize that I'm awake, except for the diaper changes when I actually have to do something:).
I think he looks a lot like Sam, but not as much as he did at first. He has a very distinctive face now :)
If/when our #2 comes along, we plan a homebirth. FL requires all insurers to cover homebirth/midwives, which is really cool.
What a cute little peanut!
I have a homebirth question for you...
Since I have always given birth at the hospital they always want to hook me up to the IV (my #2 came so fast so there was no time for that- which I was happy about). WIth this pregnancy I tested positive for the strep B. Of course they want you to have 4 hours of IV antibiotics while you are in labor. I know the chances of the baby actually getting sick from the strep B is very slim.
I guess my question to you is- have you ever been tested for it? Do they make you take anything if you test positive and you're going to give birth at home?
He does look like Sam.
Thanks for all the comments, everyone!
Rachel, we're getting into a pretty good routine here, I think. :) I'm pretty laid back and not into scheduling, but Josiah has worked into his own little schedule, which is nice. He usually takes a good morning nap and a good afternoon one, also. He usually still nurses a few times at night, too. We moved him to his pack 'n play (still in our room) about a month ago, but when he wakes up I just bring him to our bed and he stays there the rest of the night. Usually he doesn't wake up till the wee hours of the morning (2-3 am) and this morning it was after 5 am (which means he slept about 7 hours--yay!). And thankfully he's pretty much past the messy-diapers-in-the-night stage, so I barely wake up. Just enough to stagger to his bed and bring him back to ours, LOL. :)
Samara, that's really great that FL requires insurance to cover homebirths! I wish all the states were like that! We were able to be covered by Medicaid, but even if we had to pay out of pocket it wouldn't be too expensive--WAY less than a hospital birth, anyway.
Kara, great question about the B strep. With Julia (my first homebirth) I tested negative so it wasn't an issue. With Josiah, I chose not to test (my m/w doesn't require it). I did have a friend who had a homebirth, who had tested positive. The m/w suggested some kind of a wash (I think it was Hibiclens) that was supposed to help. I did quite a bit of reading on this site: http://tiny.cc/mwtl6
There are obviously some "out there" opinions given, but I did find a lot of helpful info about the risk factors and options of natural care. Then there is some info on this site about hibiclens, chlorhexadine, etc.: http://tiny.cc/17XrU
Actually there is a lot of info. about GBS in general there.
Also, some midwives will actually do IV antibiotics at home. I think it's just got to be a personal decision first of all whether to test, and secondly what to about it if the test ends up positive. I know GBS can be very serious if a baby does end up with it, but thankfully the chances of that happening are quite slim.
Anyway, sorry for the long comment, but hopefully that helps answer your question a little bit! Sorry you tested positive. :( Hopefully your labor will go so fast, you won't have to be hooked up to anything. :)
Thank you! You have me so intrigued about home births now I just love to hear your input.
