Works of God Monday
Like Jenny's, my works of God testimony this week has to do with good deals on clothing. I had finally gone through the kids' drawers a couple weeks ago (something I'd been meaning to do for a long time!) and sorted out all the outgrown or unseasonal clothes. So I finally knew what we were in need of for this summer. Actually, neither one of them needs much, but one thing we did need was a pair of navy dress pants for Sam. So I went to our local children's consignment store, hoping to find a pair in his size. Unfortunately they didn't have any, but I did score a couple other things there--a dress for Julia which looked to be brand new, and a pair of brown church shoes for Sam which also looked almost new. It turned out that I had over $20 worth of store credit from the last bunch of stuff I had brought in, so the things were free! :) But I still needed navy pants, so the next time we were at Kohl's, I took along my $5 coupon that I had gotten for signing up for Kohl's updates, and perused the clearance racks. I found several pairs of Chaps khakis for $12, but none in navy . . . then as I was about to leave the kids' section, I spotted another pair of Chaps, same style, in navy! Could they be Sam's size? Aha! They were! And instead of being marked $12, they were only $9! So with my coupon, they ended up to be $4! I get so tickled when I get a deal like that--they were originally marked $30 (though I don't know who in the world would pay $30 for a pair of kids' pants . . . I don't even want to pay that much for my own pants!). Anyway, I am praising the Lord for providing that little need for my growing boy, and also for the blessing of store credit at the consignment store, which has given me so many great clothes for my kiddos!

What a great blessing! God cares so much about the little things, doesn't He? Thanks for sharing!
