Cooking chatter :)

As I'm sure most of you know, I love to cook. I don't love to clean up after cooking, but unfortunately that comes with the territory. :) I can't complain, though, especially since I have a dishwasher to do most of the work for me! Anyway, I wanted to tell you about a couple of my favorite cooking blogs and some of the recipes I've tried in the past few months. My absolute favorite cooking blog is Tammy's Recipes. Not only do I enjoy reading about and trying her recipes, but I also like to read about her life with three little ones (who are close in age to my own kids). She also has great photos to go with most of the recipes. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm a visual person who gets most inspired to try something when I can see a picture of the finished result. :) Anyway, I have tried quite a few recipes from Tammy's blog, and so far most of them have been a smashing success. Here is a list of the ones I've tried:

*Farmhouse Chicken
*Italian Garlic Bread
*Whole Wheat Pita Pockets
*Pumpkin Dinner Rolls
*Homemade Bagels
*Spinach Tortillas
*Quick and Easy Breadsticks
*Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins
*Cream-Filled Pumpkin Cupcakes
*Homemade Puppy Chow
*Roasted Pumpkin Seeds (I used acorn squash seeds)

And I have 4 or 5 more recipes printed out that I want to try soon! There is just so much yummy sounding stuff on her blog! Out of the above list, my very favorite recipes are the Italian bread, pita pockets, bagels and tortillas. Oh, and of course the puppy chow . . . which has been a favorite snacky item since childhood. :)

Another blog that I recently discovered is The Pioneer Woman. While her blog itself is hilarious, what I most enjoy is the cooking section, and also her incredible photographs. I was telling Jim that her pictures of ranch life almost made me want to live on a ranch. He took a look and said "Only almost?" Anyway, I printed off several of her recipes, and tried the first one on Friday night. "Marlboro Man's Favorite Sandwiches" were a huge hit with my hubby. (Marlboro Man is what she calls her husband on the blog--he doesn't smoke, but someone once said that he looked like the Marlboro man.) Anyway, the sandwiches were very easy to make, and oh-so-good. I'm going to be on the lookout for marked-down cube steak so I can make them more often.

So if you're on the lookout for new recipes to add to your collection, I highly recommend that you poke around these two cooking blogs. You may just find some new favorites! :)

I think that I learned of Tammy's Recipes from your blog and I have enjoyed perusing and using her recipes. You are right - the pictures are fantastic!

I'll have to check out the Pioneer Woman. I think that one of my blogging buddies, April, told me about it but I didn't follow up with it.

Last week, it was waaay too hot to do much baking but I'm itching to get at it again. This week is supposed to be cooler - woohoo!!

I hope that you are doing well and enjoying your 3 precious ones:). Thanks for your kind emails and notes.

I love Pioneer Woman as well. Her recently added Crash potatoes were a big hit at our house. I also loved MM sandwich and her rolls. So good. I'll have to check out Tammy's Recipes as well.

I've heard wonderful things about both of these blogs and have looked around some at Tammy's Recipes. I need to check out Pioneer Woman, as those sandwiches sound amazing. Thanks for sharing your finds!
