Still no baby . . .

So, I'm still here, waiting for baby! And starting to get a little impatient. Which is silly, since I'm only 38 weeks! :) I keep having little "false alarms" which is making me more impatient, I think. Last night I was having pretty regular contractions from about 9-11 pm, but they were very light, and I eventually fell asleep. Maybe today will be the day . . . I have an appt. with my midwife this afternoon, so I'll try and update about that tonight or tomorrow.

Even though I don't have my own baby news to report, I wanted to say congratulations to our friends Jason & Leslie! Their third child, Hannah, was born on Friday afternoon and I got to go see them in the hospital on Saturday, and hold the baby. :) Which also made me more anxious to hold my own newborn! One funny/neat thing is that my sister and I, and Leslie and her sister, were all due to have babies within about a month of each other. Les's sister is the next in line . . . at least she's due before I am . . . so we'll see who goes next!

Sam is sick again. :( He's had a bad cough since Thursday. So we ended up missing church again yesterday. I will be so glad when the winter germs finally leave us! So far the rest of us are healthy, and I pray it stays that way. At least this time Sam just has a cough, no fever or even a runny nose.

Well, I better get started on my day and see what I can get done before it's time to go to my checkup. Hope you all had a great weekend!!

Hang in there, Carrie! I know it's hard during the home stretch, but the contractions are a good sign. Your body is gearing up for the main event. It will be soon! Take care!

Thanks for the update:). I can only imagine how excited you are to meet your third little one. I'll be praying for you and for little Sam's cough to go away quickly.

I think I have been so interested in your blog because all my babies were a bit early, too. Abby, who is almost 17 mo. was born at 38 weeks. She weighed 7 lbs 12 oz. I don't know how these girls can hang on til 40+ weeks, I can hardly walk by 38 weeks!

I'll check again tomorrow... :)

Thanks for the prayers and kind words, ladies!! I'll update more on my other blog tomorrow, but for now I'd like to ask prayer that baby either comes by this Friday, or waits till next Tuesday. My midwife is going to be away for a long weekend, and while I'd be fine with having one of her backup midwives, I'd really prefer to have her if possible! Of course, my preference is to have the baby this week. :)

Kara, I've appreciated your comments on my blog--sorry I haven't had a chance to respond till now. I too am obsessed with people giving birth, and it's one of my favorite topics to read/talk about. :) And I agree, I am very thankful for having gone early with each baby so far, and I have trouble walking by 38 weeks also. :) I have the utmost respect and admiration for my friends who have gone a week or 2 overdue with their babies!! I have nothing to complain about, that's for sure!
