I love that word--it's so funny--(and I hope I spelled it right. :)) My house is very discombobulated right now and I couldn't be more excited! I'm sure that sounds strange, coming from someone who is usually stressing about the order (or lack thereof) in my home. BUT, the reason I'm so happy about this is that we are about to start FINISHING THE KIDS' ROOM!!!! Jim decided that this weekend would be a good time to start the project, and even though I'm not especially looking forward to the process, I am definitely looking forward to the end result! Last night we moved most of the toys and both dressers to different places in the house, and today I finished cleaning out the rest of the toys and odds and ends of stuff. Tonight we will move out the bunkbed and crib and Jim will start mudding and taping. Hopefully we will be able to settle on a paint color in the next few days so we can jump right into painting, once the mudding/taping/sanding is done. We are also putting wood on one wall, and plan to do a wood floor and ceiling.
Our goal is to have it done (or mostly done) in a week--we shall see. In the meantime, Sam will be "camping out" in the living room and Julia's crib will move into our room. So things will be somewhat unsettled for a while, but we can live with it. After the kids' room being so drab for 2.5 years, I'm ready to see it brightened up! We also have plans for a better way to arrange everything . . . and, to my great delight, Jim plans to build a shelving/storage system on one whole wall!! I will definitely be posting pictures of everything once it's done, so stay tuned. :)

Can't wait to see pics! I can totally relate to feeling discombobulated regarding house projects. Talk about lowering expectations! It's so fun when it's all done and put back:). I hope that the process moves along without any hitches along the way!
I totally understand the discombobulation. My parents are constantly in the process of remodeling something. They just started the laundry room (which is right by my bedroom). I'm really excited for my moving plans to fall into place ;-)
How exciting! I know exactly how you feel.
Almost all of the dry wall is up in our bedroom. I can see the finish line!

Hi there ladies--finally getting caught up on my comments! Rachel, I agree that it will be great when the project is done, and everything put back! Hopefully by this next weekend!
Mary Ann--I hope your moving plans fall into place soon, too! At least your parents have lots and lots of expertise if you decide to remodel anything in your new house! :)
Zan--how is the bedroom coming along? I hope you can get it finished before Owen arrives!!
