We ended up missing church today because Julia and I are still down with colds. So we've spent a nice, quiet day at home, which included naps for Jim and the kiddos, and time for me to crochet another dishcloth! I also made a chocolate peanut butter cake, from the new issue of Simple and Delicious. We haven't tasted it yet, but it sure smells yummy! Now if only we could have some homemade ice cream with it . . . but alas, our ice cream maker didn't arrive on schedule, so we will have to wait on that. I expect it will show up tomorrow, so maybe by Tuesday or Wednesday we can make ice cream.
I have my 24-week checkup tomorrow, so I plan to post an update (complete with picture, Joey! :)) on my pregnancy blog by Tuesday.
We made a quick stop at Kohl's on Friday to return a maternity shirt that I had decided I didn't need, and while there I got my deal of the week. Before Christmas, I had noticed a kids' book, You Can Do it, Sam, and wanted to get it for our Sam, but I decided to wait and make sure he didn't get it for Christmas from anyone else. Well, by Friday it was on clearance, at 50% off, so I was able to get it for only $2.50. Hooray!! :) We already have Kiss Goodnight, another Sam story by the same author, so I knew this one would be good, too. And it is! A very cute story.
Well, our pizza is almost ready, so I better go for now. Hope you have all had a great weekend! I'll be back with more posts later this week--I seem to be on quite the blogging kick lately. :)
