Making Your Home a Haven Challenge--Day 4

Today was a busy day, so the things on my list got done sort of out-of-order, but at least I got most of them finished! Here's what was on the challenge for today:

1. Refresh your spirit: check! I've been reading slowly through the different Gospel accounts of the Christmas story. Today I was blessed by reading about Mary's willingness to submit herself to God's plan for her life. She was only a young girl but she was ready and willing to do whatever God told her, even if it may have sounded impossible!

2. Take time to plan: check! I actually made my to-do list last night, because I wanted to get going pretty early this morning to do my grocery shopping. Here's what was on my list for today:
  • Morning routine
  • Shopping
  • Bake bread
  • 15 minutes cleaning bathrooms
  • Fold/put away last load of laundry
  • Wrap gifts for tomorrow's gift exchange with friends
  • Make appetizer for tomorrow
  • Work on shirt
  • Supper: mac 'n cheese
3. Do something:check! It's really amazing how much more I can get done when I make a to-do list. :) I was able to cross off everything on the list, except wrapping gifts. Oh, and I have to put the appetizer together tomorrow, but the veggie chopping part is done. I spent a little more time than 15 minutes on the bathrooms, but they are pretty clean now. Yay! I also worked on maintaining the areas I've already cleaned. The computer desk is getting cluttered again, though--and I need to vacuum AGAIN. Maybe tomorrow. I was pretty happy with how much I got done today, though! Tomorrow we have a lunch get-together with friends, so I doubt I'll be tackling much new cleaning. We'll see, though.

Thanks again to Crystal for hosting this fun challenge!

Now that I feel like myself, I have started up my routines once again. I am so thankful that I'm out of that "survival mode".
It's been nice to come over and visit your blog for inspiration:). You do such a great job keeping things together, especially with two busy little people and one on the way. Thanks for being an encouragement through your faithfulness on a daily basis.
