New Jammies and other Miscellany

Whew! For some reason it's been a whole week since I got a chance to blog. I guess I've been spending less time on the computer and a bit more time on household chores and running errands, which is a good thing . . . but I've missed having the time to relax and chatter away on here. :)

On Saturday we did a little shopping and checked out a new Kohl's store. I ended up buying a new pair of pajamas, which you see here:
I normally wouldn't spend $28+ on a pair of PJs, but I just loved these and I decided to splurge. About a week ago I had been going through some stuff that had been packed away since we moved out of our first home, about 4 1/2 years ago, and found an envelope with my name on it, containing $25. What a blessing! So I used that towards the PJs. I have several pajama sets and am trying to inspire myself to wear them more often. I usually end up sleeping in an old t-shirt and sweats, and I know I would feel more pretty in something that at least matches. :) These are so cute and comfy and I'm enjoying them!

Sam and Julia are still fighting the never-ending cold, and I feel like it's coming back again for another round with me, too. We are typically really healthy; I don't know what the deal is with this cold! I guess more germs are starting to float around as the cold weather approaches. Sam has had quite a bad cough; I was giving him Dimetapp at night but it didn't seem to have much effect. Jim looked up some natural remedies online and we tried one that contains apple cider vinegar, honey, water, ginger, and cayenne pepper. Yikes, it is HOT! Sam hates it, so we basically have to hold him down to get it into him . . . however, it works! The first night he took it was Sunday, and he slept 11 hours straight without waking himself up from coughing. Last night he only slept about 9 1/2 hours, but at least it was all night again. Prior to trying this stuff, he had been waking up from coughing, anywhere from one to four times a night. So, I guess it is worth taking, in spite of the taste.

We have a little foosball/ping pong/etc. table that we got a couple years ago on an incredible after-Christmas sale. It's stored in the garage, and we haven't had time to play with it much over the past year. Well, Jim decided he needed to teach Sam the finer points of foosball, so he brought the table top upstairs and set it up on the coffee table, right at Sam's level. Here you can see some pictures of them enjoying it, on a Sunday afternoon (which is why Sam is a bit more dressed up than usual).

Sam got very attached to "the guys" or "the boys," as he sometimes called them, even telling them goodnight when he went to bed. "Night-night, guys! Love you, guys!" After being in the living room for over a week, I asked Jim if the guys could find a new home for a while. :) So now I have my coffee table back again!

Well, I need to get going for now, so I'll try to update on my cleaning challenge progress in the next day or two. Hope everyone is having a great week!

I'm glad to hear that the natural remedy is working for Sam. I hope him and the rest of the family are better soon. We are having a small touch of a cold. Would you mind sharing the recipe of the remedy you found?

Thank you,
Linda

Linda, hope you guys can escape the cold! I drank some of the garlic lemonade the other night when I thought I was getting sick again, and I'm feeling much better now. Don't know if that's what did it, but I'm sure it didn't hurt! :)
