Last night, Jim and I had a stargazing date. I got this idea from fellow blogger Christina, and I have to say it was one of the most fun dates ever!! Plus, it was completely free! We waited till the kids were in bed, then dragged the hide-a-bed mattress, some pillows and blankets out onto the deck. We turned off most of the lights in the house so we could see the sky better, then we snuggled together and just watched the stars and talked. Now, the best part was that without even realizing it, we picked a night when there were meteor showers going on!! The sky was so clear; it was absolutely stunning. We counted 15 shooting stars in about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. This was such a special date; for any of you who live out in the country and have a good nighttime view of the sky, you should try it!! Even though we were up much later than usual, we had so much fun and felt very refreshed. We may just have to make this a weekly tradition (at least until it gets too cold!).

Zan, your lakeside dates sound so nice. I'm a total wimp too about walking in the woods (or anywhere for that matter) at night. :) Isn't it nice how our hubbies make us feel so safe and protected!! I guess you will have to add a deck to your "honey-do list"--hee hee. :)
