My mom (Mrs. T) has recently posted some excellent frugal cooking tips and recipes on her blog, as well as some cookbook recommendations. I'd like to encourage everyone to check it out! As I've said before, my mom is one of the best cooks I know, and also a very creative one. My sister and I end up calling her with a lot of cooking questions; we joke about "Mom's Cooking Hotline!" :)
Anyway, I found that she has a lot of good things posted over there. I especially recommend her homemade cream soup recipes--I have used these a lot when recipes call for canned soup, and they work great. A little extra work, but it saves you pennies and you also don't end up with the additives that are in canned soup.
I also wanted to mention her Raspberry French Toast recipe, which is fabulous! I made it this weekend, only I substituted frozen whole strawberries (which I cut up into smaller pieces). It came out so yummy, and it's a super easy recipe. You can also use blueberries, so it's very versatile. :)
Happy cooking!!

THanks for the tips, Carrie and Mrs. B! I love your mom's blog. It's grand to get her cooking wisdom and I've used several of her recipes which I can HIGHLY recommend. That french toast recipe sounds super easy and would work great for company since you can put it together the night before.
Alicia, thanks for your comment! It's taken me a while to respond--it's been a busy week.:) I'm glad you enjoy my mom's blog, too!
